Design of CMOS bandgap voltage reference / Muhamad Amirul Zinel
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Nowadays, as CMOS technology keep shrinking down, the transistor in a single integrated circuit has increased over time. Thus, using high output voltage reference no longer reliable to power up this circuit. Because of this, a new bandgap voltage reference needed for low voltage usage. In addition, this voltage reference are required have an operating temperature between -40°C to 120°C. In this study, type of voltage reference was discussed and selected. For this, the bandgap voltage reference that utilizes device CTAT and PTAT are the only choice to design low voltage reference. Moreover, in order to have good precision bandgap voltage reference, it must be independent to process, temperature and voltage variation. In this study, the new design has been simulated in 50nm CMOS technology using LTSpice software. This bandgap circuit optimize by using PTAT current generation and CTAT current generation and required load stage to generate voltage reference. It generates a reference voltage of 788mV with line sensitivity of 0.16% in supply voltage range of 0.9-1.4 V, the temperature coefficient is 196ppm/°C, through temperature range of -40°C-120°C. The power supply rejection ratio 48.59 dB at 50Hz and 47.76 dB at 1Mhz.
