Dengan kemajuan teknologi, semakin banyak peralatan elektrik telah mengambil alih kehidupan kita tidak kira kita suka atau tidak. Dengan ini, tenaga telah menjadi semakin mahal akibat permintaan yang semakin tinggi. Untuk menjimatkan tenaga, perkara pertama adalah untuk memahami berapa jumlah tenaga yang digunakan dahulu. Dengan peralatan pemantauan tenaga , penggunaan tenaga boleh dipantau dengan mudah. Peralatan pemantantauan tenaga ini memaparkan data asas dan informasi seperti kuasa sebenar, voltan, arus, faktor kuasa kuasa sebenar dan kuasa jelas. Data yang diperoleh boleh diterjemah dalam graf untuk dianalisa sama ada harian,bulanan ataupun tahunan. Dengan data yang diperoleh, permahaman yang lebih tinggi terhadap peralatan yang menggunakan tenaga dengan lebih banyak dapat diperoleh dan dari sana, penjimatan tenaga dapat diimplimentasikan. Mikropengawal yang digunakan untuk pemantauan tenaga adalah Adruino Uno. Ia merupakan mikropengawal 8 bit yang boleh diprogramkan. Kalibrasi peralatan pemantauan tenaga ini dilakukan menggunakan Power Quality Analyzer. Selepas kalibrasi dilakukan, energy monitor digunakan untuk mengambil data daripada perumahan selama 105 minit. Data yang diperoleh direkodkan ke dalam computer dan diproses menggunakan Microsoft Excel. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ With the advancement of technology, more and more electrical powered devices are becoming part of our lives whether we like it or not. Due to this, energy is becoming more and more expensive due to the higher demand. To conserve energy the first is to understand how much energy is consumed in the first place. With the Energy Monitoring device, power consumption can be easily monitored. Energy monitoring device shows the basic data and information such as real power, voltage, current, power factor, apparent power and reactive power. The data obtained can also be plotted into graphical form to be analysed either daily, monthly or even yearly. With this data obtained, a better understanding on which device consumes most energy can be obtained and from there energy saving can be implemented. The microcontroller used for this energy monitoring project is the Adruino Uno. It’s a 8 bit programmable microcontroller. Calibration of the Energy Monitoring device is done by using the Power Quality Analyzer. After calibration, the energy monitor is used to take data from a residential area for around 105 minutes. The data obtained is recorded using a computer and processed using Microsoft Excel.
