pemagnetan selari.

Permanent magnet (PM) brushless machines have gained popularity in many
applications due to its low maintenance and easily controlled motive power. Hence, it is
important to investigate the influence of different magnetization in the performance of
three-phase PM brushless motors. Three magnetization patterns such as radial
magnetization, parallel magnetization and ideal Halbach magnetization are popularly
employed in typical surface-mounted PM brushless motors. Finite-element software
Opera 2D is intensively used to model and predict the electromagnetic characteristics
and performance of 9-slot/10-pole and 12-slot/10-pole motors with three magnetization
patterns stated above and applied in the magnets. The electromagnetic characteristic and
performance of motors are air gap flux density distribution, phase back-EMF, cogging
torque, unbalanced magnetic pull (UMP), inductances of motor and electromagnetic
(EM) torque. The phase back-EMF of the motors is computed further into its harmonic
components to investigate the total harmonic distortion in the phase back-EMF
waveforms. As a result, motors with ideal Halbach magnetization gives the best
magnetization option due to its low peak cogging torque, total harmonic distortion in
the phase back-EMF, UMP and torque ripples. Besides that, optimum setting of magnet
pole-arc is sought which will be able to reduce the total harmonic distortion of phase
back-EMF and also reduce the cogging torque. The optimization of magnet pole-arc in
9-slot/10-pole motor with parallel magnetization is demonstrated. By virtue of lowest
total harmonic distortion and small peak cogging torque, 26° mechanical magnet pole
arc is chosen as the optimum magnet pole arc in the 9-slot/10-pole motor with parallel
magnetization.
