BS EN 60617-5:1996 is a British Standard that specifies graphical symbols for diagrams used in electrotechnology. Part 5 of the standard specifically covers "Semiconductor devices". It provides graphical symbols for various types of semiconductor devices, such as diodes, transistors, thyristors, integrated circuits, and optoelectronic devices.
The symbols defined in this standard are used in circuit diagrams and other types of technical drawings to represent semiconductor devices in electronic circuits. By using standardized symbols, engineers and technicians from different countries and industries can easily communicate and understand each other's designs.
It should be noted that this standard has been superseded by newer versions, such as BS EN 60617-5:1996/A1:2000, which includes additional symbols and revisions to existing symbols.
