Komunikasi telah menjadi sebahagian daripada kehidupan manusia yang memerlukan komunikasi antara manusia lain pada bila-bila masa. Sama ada komunikasi dijalankan melalui penyiaran televisyen, siaran radio, komunikasi tanpa wayar dan sebagainya. Keperluan dalam industri komunikasi telah meningkat, ini menyebabkan kelajuan dalam menghantar data haruslah dipertingkatkan. Oleh demikian, OFDM telah diciptakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah jalur lebar untuk membenarkan lebih banyak data untuk menggunakan lebar jalur yang terhad. Sistem OFDM telah diimplimentasikan dalam pelbagai sistem komunikasi yang memerlukan trasmisi dengan kelajuan tinggi. Tetapi dalam sistem OFDM mempunyai kelemahan yang tidak dapat dielakkan, iaitu PAPR yang tinggi. PAPR yang tinggi akan menyebabkan gangguan dalam isyarat. Banyak cara telah dicuba dalam usaha menurunkan PAPR. Antara cara-cara dalam projek ini, SLM teknik telah digunakan sebab teknik ini lebih mudah untuk diimplementasi dan tidak menyebabkan gangguan yang lebihan dalan isyarat. Dalan projek ini, SLM teknik dengan jujukan fasa yang diperolehi daripada Riemann matriks yang telah dinormalisasi. Ubah suai telah dilakukan dalam jujukan fasa dengan transpose Riemann matriks yang telah dinormalisasi. Keputusan dalam perbandingan kedua-dua jujukan fasa telah menunjukkan pengurangan 4dB untuk 16-QAM modulasi ,RMN = 32 dan 3.4dB untuk 64-QAM modulasi ,RMN = 32. Jujukan fasa yang telah diubah suai memaparkan prestasi yang lebih baik. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Communication has become a part of the human’s life, people need to communicate to others all the time. Whether the communication is done on broadcasting television, broadcasting radio, wireless communication and others. As the demand in communication has increased, the speed of transmitting data have to be increased as well. Therefore, OFDM is invented to solve the problem of bandwidth inefficiency of FDM system. For digital communication, OFDM has been established for a long time and has been implemented on system which required high speed transmission. The reliability needed for a high speed transmission which make OFDM so convincing. All and all the major drawback of PAPR of OFDM is the high PAPR that increases exponentially to the number of subcarrier and lead to distortion of signal. Thus, the research on the important of PAPR reduction in OFDM has caught the eyes of many. Various approaches have been designed and tested. SLM technique is one of the approaches which is easy to implement and inexpensive. The CCDF of PAPR are evaluated to analyze the performance of the SLM technique. BER performance is another factor that incur the performance of the OFDM system. In this project, the major focus is an improved selected mapping method to reduce PAPR in OFDM system by using a modified phase sequences. Riemann matrix are generated using MATLAB coding. The modified phase sequence is obtained from the transposed of Normalized Riemann Matrix. The result is that there is an improvement of around 4dB for 16-QAM modulation at RMN = 32 and reduction of around 3.4dB for 64-QAM modulation at RMN = 32.
