BS EN 50155:1996 is a European standard that specifies the requirements for electronic equipment used on railway vehicles. It covers electronic systems and components that are intended to be used on both rolling stock and fixed installations, such as signaling and telecommunications equipment.
The standard includes requirements for the environmental conditions that electronic equipment must be able to withstand, including temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, and electromagnetic interference. It also specifies requirements for electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and mechanical design.
BS EN 50155:1996 is an older version of the standard, which has since been updated. The most recent version of the standard is BS EN 50155:2017, which includes updated requirements and test methods for electronic equipment used on railway vehicles.
