Analysis of multi-three phase induction motors dynamic performance_Lee Su Jean_E3_2005_NI
Dynamic studies are routinely performed on different systems of different sizes, ranging from the smallest company to the largest coordinating council. These are made at both the design, operation and planning stages. It provides prediction and information about the capabilities of a system and is capable to provide accurate representation without prohibitive computational cost. The dynamic performance of the multi three-phase induction motor is very important to both the power system organization, from an economic viewpoint, and society, from a reliability viewpoint. To do this analysis of dynamic performance on multi three-phase induction machines, numerical methods are used with the help of computer simulation program that will be design and built in this project. In obtaining solutions for the Ordinary Differentiation Equation (ODE) models to describe the forced response of the dynamic systems, the consideration is mostly low-order linear systems because its analytical solutions can be found easily. This project will be constructed by using Visual Basic Application (VBA) with the help of Microsoft Excel. VBA is a variation of Microsoft's Visual Basic. It is specially adapted for Microsoft's Office Applications such as Access, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. VBA provides more power and a finer degree of control than the users get by using macros alone. The objective of this tool is to design a tool to perform analysis on the dynamic performance of multi three-phase induction motor using VBA. To analyze the multi three-phase induction machines’ dynamic performance during different situations such as free acceleration, normal working operation with load, sudden changes in load torque and three phase fault at the machine terminals. To know the characteristic of the multi three-phase induction machines network such as its current transient and output voltages during different situations. Lastly, to suggest the protection on multi three-phase induction motor network to avoid massive loss during fault and to install the protection system in the most economical way.
