Pertama sekali, tujuan projek ini untuk memberi pengenalan dan menghasilkan mekanism ringkas iaitu engsel pengimbang satah untuk system manipulasi mikro dengan kos yang rendah dan meningkatkan operasinya. Ia membenarkan sebarang nombor strut untuk di sambungkan bersama dan memberi pergerakkan di atas separuh permukaan sfera yang berpusat pada satu titik. Berdasarkan kes ini, ia dikenali sebagai Pembilang Sendi Sfera Sepusat atau (CMS) dalam bahasa singkatannya. Pemasangan sendi CMS adalah daripada satu atau lebih daripada enam hubungan bar berdasarkan kepada engsel pengimbang satah. Jenis mekanism ini dikenali sebagai Watt-I dilengkapi dengan dua pendakap lurus, dua bengkok pendakap dan dua penyelak. Setiap penyelak mewakili satu bahagian engsel. Mekanism ini membenarkan dua penyelak bersandar antara satu sama lain berpusing pada satu titik tetap putaran. Penggunann Interaksi Unit Gambaran atau dalam bahasa singkatan inggeris (GUI) untuk berinteraksi antara pengguna dan motor untuk mengawal penggerakkannya melalui kabel RS232. Setiap penggerakkan motor servo boleh di simpan dan ulang semula dengan menggunakan GUI. Pengukuran ruang kerja untuk manipulasi mikro ini adalah terhad dengan kaedah gambaran. Keputusan daripada pengukuran tersebut, ia dapat berputar 360 darjah dalam satah x-y dan 180 darjah dalam satah z dengan kata lain, pergerakkannya adalah di atas permukaan separuh sfera pada satu titik putaran. Kesimpulannya, engsel pengimbang satah banyak digunakan dalam pelbagai industri seperti kilang kereta dan juga perubatan. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Firstly, this project is to introduce and develop simple offset planar hinge mechanism for micro manipulation system at reasonable cost and enhanced its operability. It allows an arbitrary number of struts to be connected together and allows spherical motion about a single point. In this case, it is known as Concentric Multilink Spherical Joint (CMS joint). The CMS joint is assemble from one or more six bar linkages referred to as offset planar hinges. The linkage is a Watt I type mechanism with two straight brackets, two bent brackets and two leaves. Each leaf is one section of a hinge. This mechanism allows the two leaves to rotate by servo motor with respect to one another about a fixed center of rotation in the plane. A GUI (Graphical Unit Interface) used to interface between user and control of servo motor through serial cable RS232. Every servo position can be save and playback using GUI. A workspace limited is known by using graphical method. As a result, rotation about 360 degree in x-y plane and less 180 degree in z-plane. It means the strut to move on a hemisphere surface about the center of rotation. As a conclusion, the offset planar hinge mechanism is useful in many industries such as medical surgery and car factory.
