Kanser payudara telah menjadi beban kepada manusia sejak zaman dahulu terutama terhadap wanita, terdapat pelbagai jenis teknik pengesanan kanser payudara seperti mamografi X-Ray dan Pengimejan Resonans Magnet (MRI) telah dicipta dan dilaksanakan sejak dahulu. Walaupun kemajuan teknologi telah dicapai, namun teknik-teknik ini mempunyai limitasi yang menghadkan kejayaan manusia terhadap kanser payudara. Tujuan projek ini adalah untuk membuktikan bahawa Ppengesanan Kanser Payudara melalui microwave pengimejan akan manjadi pengganti di sebelah teknik pengesanan payudara semasa. Untuk mengesan kawasan pemalar dieletrik yang beza, Ultra Wide Band (UWM) sususan barisan 3D antenna telah digunakan pada replika payudara telah dicadangkan sebagai kunci untuk teknik pengesanan payudara pada generasi yang akan datang. Magnitud dari Vector Analyzer Network (VNA) melalui setiap pasang antenna akan digunakan untuk menghasilkan imej bertenaga yang mewakili lokasi tumor. Algoritma Enhanced Delay and Sum (EDAS) beamforming telah dicadangkan untuk membina imej tumor. Untuk mengira lokasi tumor perisan Mathwork telah dicadangkan sebab algoritma terdiri daripada pengiraan luas. Dari segi informasi, imej 3D mempunyai lebih information daripda imej 2D. Pengesanan Microwave Kanser Payudara adalah lebih selamat dan kos effectif untuk dilaksanakan. Prestasi EDAS telah dianalisis dan dibandingkan dengan dengan DAS, DMAS, dan DAS dengan factor kepaduan. EDAS telah dibuktikan bahawa SCR dan SMR yang dihasilkan adalah lebih tinggi. Sebagai tambahan, perantara yang berbeza tidak menjejaskan SCR dan SMR imej. Kelajuan komputasi algoritma telah tambah baik berbanding dengan algoritma yang lepas. Appendix telah dimasukkan untuk penambahbaikkan masa depan dan rujukan. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Breast cancer has been the bane of humanity for ages especially for women. To date breast detection techniques such as X-ray mammography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) have been used to screen breast cancer. Despite the technological advances these techniques come with limitation and drawbacks. The aim of this project is to investigate that breast cancer detection via microwave imaging would serve as an alternative to the current breast cancer detection techniques. To detect the region of dielectric constant with significant difference, an Ultra-Wide Band (UWM) 3D antenna arrays were investigated on inhomogeneous breast phantom. The magnitude obtain from the Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) via each pair of antenna was used to reconstruct an image, depicting the size and location of tumor. Enhanced Delay and Sum (EDAS) beam forming algorithm is proposed for image reconstruction. Signal processing and image reconstruction were implemented in Mathwork. In terms of information, 3D image construction provides more reliable information over 2D image, thus allowing more detailed mapping of dielectric property as compared to 2D image. Microwave Breast Cancer detection is a much more safer and cost effective to implement. The performance of EDAS is analyzed and compared with DAS, DMAS and DAS with coherence factor. It is proved that EDAS produce better SCR and SMR result. In addition, using different medium does not affect the SCR and SMR of the image. The computation speed of the algorithm has been improved when compared with the previous algorithm. Appendix has been added for future improvement and references.
