As a response to growing demands on stretchable and wearable devices, there have been a
wide variety of efforts to develop conductive elastomers that satisfy both mechanical stretch ability
and electrical conductivity. Such technology enables integrating electronic for everyday uses such
as for health industry, sport industry etc. Thus there is a need for conductive ink that can be flexible and stretchable at the same time. Properties of the best conductive ink to be use on a stretchable substrate and the material for the stretchable substrates is studied in this research to achieve the best performance for stretchable electronic circuit. This study concentrates on the characterization of graphene based-ink as the conductive ink mix with highly electrical conductors micro sized silver flake for higher electrical conductivity printed by a screen printing method on a polyurethane substrate. The characterization part includes analysis of the morphology and crack on the surface of the ink through scanning electron microscope (SEM) and microscopic image, sheet resistance and conductivity of the conductive ink via four-point probe method and multi-meter with and without the present of strain. The resistivity of the graphene-based ink with a presence of strain is analyze for future development in sensor uses. Here we report that average every sample can stand up to 70 percent strain before crack started to emerge that caused it to loss contact that lead to loss of conductivity and the recovery was observed to be time dependent and fully reversible as the resistance was stable after one hour during cyclic test as the final resistance was 2.7 times the initial resistance of the graphene-based ink. This work is an important step for future research on the development of graphene-based ink on stretchable substrate.
