Kini, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) sebaga isyarikat utiliti yang terbesar menjadikan jangka digital satu fasa digunakan secara meluas dalam menggantikan jangka watt-jam induksi untuk mengukur penggunaan tenaga elektrik di kediaman dan industri di negara. Minat terhadap projek ini adalah mengenai kajian tentang kesan harmonik arus terhadap bacaan jangka kWj. Perhatian yang besar untuk perubahan-perubahan ini adalah mengenai pendaftaran penggunaan kuasa oleh pengguna keatas jangka elektronik. Dalam kajian ini, perbandingan antara penggunaan kWj berdasarkan beban linear dan penggunaan kWj berdasarkan beban tidak linear telah dijalankan. Hasil menunjukkan bahawa sepanjang kenaikan THDi dalam beban tidak linear pada kuasa edaran yang malar, bacaan ukuran daripada jangka menurun. Nilai THDi yang lebih tinggi dalam peralatan-peralatan menyebabkan herotan dalam arus yang lebih teruk. Tambahan lagi, kajian ini telah dijalankan untuk dua kes iaitu arus fundamental malar dan arus rms malar. Hasil menunjukkan bahawa kiraan kWj yang sebenar adalah berdasarkan arus rms dengan voltan masukan dan masa berbanding bacaan-bacaan yang sepatutnya menjadi jumlah untuk masukan arus fundamental dan voltan masukan dalam masa yang tertentu. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Nowadays, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) as the largest utility company made the digital single phasemeter widely used in replacing the induction watt-hour meter in measuring the electric energy consumption at homes and industries nationally. The interest of this project is about the investigation of the effects of current harmonics on the kWh meter reading. The big concern for these changes is about the registration of consumers’ power usage on the electronic meter. In this investigation, the comparison between the kWh usage based on the linear loads and the kWh usage based on the non-linear loads are done. The results show as the THDi increase in the non-linear loads at constant power distributed, the measured readings from the meter are decreased. The higher THDi in the equipments cause the worse the distortions in currents. Furthermore, the investigation is done for two cases that are for constant fundamental current and constant rms current. The results show that the actual calculated kWh are based on rms current with supply voltage and time rather than the readings which should be the total for input of fundamental current and supply voltage in mean of time.
