Abstract BS EN 60704-2-5:1995 is a European standard that specifies methods for measuring the performance of household electric ovens, including single ovens, double ovens, and built-in ovens, in terms of energy consumption, cooking performance, and other related characteristics. The standard sets out specific procedures and requirements for testing the energy efficiency, cooking performance, and other performance parameters of electric ovens. BS EN 60704-2-5:1995 also includes guidelines for calculating the energy efficiency of electric ovens, taking into account factors such as the power consumption and cooking time of the appliance during use. The standard is intended to provide a common basis for measuring the performance of electric ovens across Europe, ensuring that consumers can make informed choices about the energy efficiency and cooking performance of the appliances they buy. It is worth noting that this standard has been revised and updated several times since its initial publication in 1995, with the latest version being BS EN 60350-1:2016.
