Abstract BS EN 61241-2-2:1996 is a British Standard (BS) that was adopted from the European Standard (EN) and specifies the requirements for electrical apparatus used in the presence of combustible dust. The full title of the standard is "Electrical apparatus for use in the presence of combustible dust - Part 2-2: Test methods - Method for determining the electrical resistivity of dust in layers." This standard provides guidelines for testing the electrical resistivity of dust layers to ensure the safety of electrical equipment in environments where combustible dust may be present. The electrical resistivity of dust is an important factor in determining the risk of ignition or explosion when electrical equipment is operated. BS EN 61241-2-2:1996 outlines the test procedure for measuring the resistivity of dust layers, including the preparation of samples, measurement techniques, and the calculation of resistivity values.
