Abstract 3G ialah singkatan untuk generasi ketiga teknologi. Servis yang disediakan oleh 3G membolehkan penghantaran data suara (panggilan telefon) dan bukan data suara (seperti memuat turun maklumat, pertukaran surat elektronik dan mesej segera) secara serentak. UMTS adalah system radio telefon 3G dan berdasarkan teknologi WCDMA. UMTS menggunakan modulasi skim QPSK untuk penghantaran digital. QPSK memetakan turutan bit yang akan dihantar kepada turutan simbol, di mana ia mengandungi empat symbol yang berbeza. Dalam penghantaran maklumat simbol modulasi bergantung tepat kepada salah satu kemungkinan kedudukan fasa pembawa. Disebabkan QPSK digunakan dalam penghantaran digital, ciri-ciri QPSK dianalisis. Ciri-ciri yang dinilai adalah berkaitan kuasa, kadar kesalahan bit dan kecekapan jalur lebar. ADS2005A adalah perisian yang digunakan dalam projek ini. Ia adalah satu peralatan yang boleh digunakan untuk membaca data dan menulis data kepada alat pengukur. _________________________________________________________________________________________ 3G is short for third-generation technology. The services associated with 3G provide the ability to transfer simultaneously both voice data (a telephone call) and non-voice data (such as downloading information, exchanging email, and instant messaging). UMTS is a 3G mobile radio system and is based on WCDMA technology. UMTS employs the QPSK modulation scheme for digital transmission. QPSK maps the bit sequence being transmitted to a symbol sequence, which consist of four different symbols. In the signal transmission a modulation symbol corresponds to exactly one of the possible phase positions of the carrier. As QPSK is used in the digital transmission, the performances of QPSK are analyzed. The performances that evaluated regarding the power, bit error rate and bandwidth efficiency. ADS2005A with wireless design libraries is the selected simulation software in this project. It is a powerful tool that can be used to read data from and to download data to instruments for practical measurements.
