Abstract BS EN 60695-2-1/3:1996 is a European standard titled "Fire hazard testing - Part 2-1/3: Test flames - 1 kW pre-mixed flame - Apparatus and calibration". This standard specifies the apparatus and procedures for generating and calibrating a 1 kW pre-mixed test flame, which is used for the assessment of the fire hazard properties of materials and products in accordance with other standards. The standard is divided into two parts: Part 2-1 covers the design and construction of the test apparatus, while Part 2-3 covers the calibration procedures for the apparatus. The test flame produced by the apparatus is used for a range of small-scale fire tests, including the determination of the time to ignition and the rate of heat release of materials and products. The purpose of this standard is to provide a consistent and reliable approach to the generation and calibration of a 1 kW pre-mixed test flame, which is used for the assessment of the fire hazard properties of materials and products. The standard is intended to be used by manufacturers, testing laboratories, and other organizations involved in the evaluation of fire hazard properties.
