Sistem rangkaian terbenam, seperti nama tersebut, didefinisikan sebagai sistem komunikasi yang mempunyai fungsi khas dalam rangkaian dan sistem komunikasi masa nyata. Dengan sifat-sifat seperti penggunaan kuasa yang rendah, saiz yang kecil dan harga unit yang murah, sistem tersebut lazim digunakan, sehingga lebih kurang sembilan puluh lapan peratus mikropemproses terkilang sebagai komopnen sistem terbenam. Komunikasi masa nyata, iaitu medium komunikasi bersepadu, merupakan salah satu sasaran dalam projek. Real-time communication, a new integrated communication medium is one of the target studies of the project. Komunikasi mana nyata biasanya bermaksud telekominikasi langsung yang berlaku tanpa kelambatan transmisi atau serta merta dengan kependaman minimum. Terdapat dua mod transmini, iaitu setengah dupleks and dupleks penuh. Rankaian Ethernet setengah dupleks yang penuh dengan kawalan media akses yang kecil/sederhana digunakan untuk sistem komunikasi masa nyata. Projek ini adalah untuk memodelkan rangkaian kawasan tempatan Ethernet dengan berbilang computer dan berkongsi satu saluran dalam lebar jalur berbeza. Kawalan Akses Media dalam model ini menggunakan protokol CSMA/CD, di mana setiap Kawalan Akses Media mengawas trafik saluran dan memulakan transmisi hanya semasa pengawal tidak megesan trafik lain dalam saluran. Matlab, Simulink dan Simevents digunakan untuk menyenipai dan melaksanakan ujian praktikal strategi komunikasi Ethernet. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Embedded network system, as its name proposed, defined as a computer system with dedicated function in networking and real-time communication system. Due to its properties such as low power consumption, small size, rugged operating ranges, and low per-unit cost, it is commonly used that almost ninety-eight percent of all microprocessors are manufactured as components of embedded systems. Real-time communication, a new integrated communication medium is one of the target studies of the project. Real time communications usually refer to any live telecommunications that occur without transmission delays or nearly instant with minimal latency. There are two transmissions mode, which are half duplex and full duplex. A half-duplex Ethernet network populated with a small/medium number of Media Access Controllers (MACs) is used for timed real-time communication. In this project, it is to model an Ethernet Local Area Network (LAN) with multiple computers and a shared channel operated at different bandwidths. The MAC Controller subsystems in the model implement the CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection) protocol, where each computer‟s MAC controller physically monitors the traffic on the channel and initiates a transmission only when the controller detects no other traffic on the channel. Matlab, Simulink and Simevents are used to simulate and implement the practical test of the Ethernet communication strategy.
