Alat pengukur yang biasanya terdiri daripada pita pengukur. Pita pengukur terdiri daripada pita dengan jalur hitam dan putih berselang-seli. Pengukuran yang dibuat dengan memanjangkan pita di sepanjang objek yang diukur dan membaca nombor yang menunjukkan ukuran secara manual. Peranti yang boleh membaca dalam pengukuran dibuat secara automatik dan memaparkan nilai pengukuran adalah jelas berguna. Projek ini adalah untuk membangunkan sebuah alat yang boleh mengesan dan mengira jalur hitam dan putih. Bacaan panjang objek yang menjadi ukuran tepat akan diambil dan menjadi masukan untuk formula. Dalam pendekatan ini, pita yg mengandungi belangbelang hitam dan putih dilukis dan sensor fotoelektrik Panasonic Sunx diguanakan disebabkan dapat mengesan titik yang kecil. Motor arus terus dengan mengawalan kelajuan digunakan untuk menarik pita untuk proses pengiraan belang-belang. Dalam pendekatan ini, penyiasatan dibuat dalam mengkaji jarak dari sensor kepada permukaan pita belang-belang untuk mencari titik mengesan yg paling kecil. Selain itu, ketepatan sensor berdasarkan saiz belang juga dikaji. Formula yang diuji pada projek ini adalah formula anggaran ketinggian dengan umur dan jantina sebagai nilai input, di mana ia berdasarkan ukuran panjang lengan. Oleh itu, projek ini akan mengukur panjang secara tepat, untuk digunakan bagi apa-apa formula dengan mengambil kira panjang. ___________________________________________________________________________________ A common measuring device is the measuring tape. A simple measuring tape consists of a long tape with alternating stripes of black and white. A measurement is made by extending the tape along the object being measured and by manually reading the numbers that indicates the measurement. A device which can automatically reads the measurement made and displays the value is clearly useful. This project developed a device which can detect and count the black and white stripes. The accurate reading of the length of object being measure can be captured and become the input to a formula. . In these approach, a tape consist of black and white stripes is drawn and Panasonic Sunx photoelectric sensor is used due to its have small point of detection. A controlled speed of DC motor is used to pull the tape for the counting process of stripes. An investigation is made in term of sensors distance to the tape surface of stripes in obtaining the smallest point of detection. Besides, the sensor accuracy based on the size of stripes is also investigated. A formula is tested on this project using a height estimation formula with the age and gender as the input value, where it based on measuring forearm length. Thus, this project is about measuring length accurately, to be used for any formula with length taking into account into it.
