Penebat di kawasan luar terutama pada talian penghantaran beroperasi pada voltan yang tinggi. Penebat yang digunakan dalam bidang voltan tinggi sangat diberi perhatian dalam menentukan prestasi, jangka masa keutuhan dan jangka hayat penebat tersebut. Kerosakan pada penebat akan menyebabkan kebocoran arus mengalir di atas permukaan penebat. Fenomena ini terjadi adalah disebabkan nyahcaj permukaan yang wujud apabila pencemaran mengalir di atas permukaan penebat dan menyebabkan kegagalan pada sistem penebat elektrik. Dalam projek ini, sistem pengukuran dibangunkan untuk memantau dan analisis kebocoran arus yang berlaku pada permukaan penebat. NI-DAQmx adalah alatan yang disambungkan dengan alat uji kaji untuk mendapatkan isyarat kebocoran arus dan menukarkan isyarat analog kepada isyarat digit. Isyarat digit yang diperoleh akan diproses dengan munggunakan perisian LabVIEW untuk memaparkan gelombang voltan jatuh, gelombang kebocoran arus dan menyimpan data untuk dianalisis untuk memilih penebat yang paling sesuai bagi aplikasi di kawasan luar. Sistem pengukuran juga menunjukkan masa yang diambil oleh sampel untuk merosot disebabkan oleh fenomena kebocoran arus ini. Jadi, sistem ini boleh dijadikan sebagai alat yang sangat berguna yang mana sistem ini mudah, murah, fleksibel dan mesra pengguna. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The outdoor insulator especially in transmission lines was operating at high voltage. Insulation in high voltage field are concerned in determining the performance, long-time reliability and expected lifetime. Failure in insulator will allow leakage current (LC) to flow at the insulator surface. This phenomenon occurred due to the surface discharge deposited when the contamination flow on the surface of insulator, which lead to failure in electrical insulation system. In this project, the measurement system was developed to monitor and analyze the leakage current event at the surface of insulator. The NI-DAQmx is the equipment used in this project, which is connected to the experiment setup to collect the LC data signal and convert the analog signal into digital signal. The digital signal obtained was processed using LabVIEW software to display voltage drop waveform, leakage current waveform, and store data for further analysis in choosing the best insulating material for outdoor application. The measurement system also shows the time taken for the sample to deteriorate under LC phenomenon. Thus, this system could provide a powerful tool which is convenient, low cost, flexible used and friendly machine interface.
