Abstract This part of BS 7217 specifies the archive file format for the Programmer's Hierarchical Interactive Graphics System (PHIGS). It defines a standard binary format for storing PHIGS structures in an archive file, ensuring that the graphical data created using PHIGS can be: Stored Transferred Reconstructed Interchanged between different systems that support PHIGS The archive file format includes the encoding of structure elements, attributes, and the hierarchical relationships essential to PHIGS, enabling long-term preservation and reliable transfer of graphical information across platforms.
