Projek ini dijalankan untuk menyiasat kesan bekalan voltan harmonik terhadap prestasi motor aruhan tiga fasa, terutamanya kepada kelajuan, suhu, daya kilas dan kecekapan motor. Di samping itu, bekalan voltan harmonik maksima yang boleh digunakan oleh motor aruhan tiga fasa tanpa merosakkan motor akan turut dicadangkan dipenghujung projek ini. Dalam projek ini, sejenis pengatur voltan tidak linear, iaitu pemalap cahaya telah digunakan untuk menghasilkan gangguan kepada sumber arus ulang alik bentuk gelombang sinus kepada setiap fasa motor aruhan jenis sangkar tupai. Tombol pemalap cahaya dikawal dan diubah kepada nilai yang sama untuk ketiga-tiga fasa bagi mendapatkan pelbagai peratusan β€œTotal Harmonic Distortion” (𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉), untuk dibekalkan kepada motor aruhan. Bagi setiap peratusan 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉 yang telah ditetapkan, beban motor ditambah daripada tiada beban kepada beban penuh. Peratusan 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉 diukur menggunakan β€œPower Quality Analyzer”, iaitu Fluke 43B. Pada setiap beban motor yang ditetapkan, apabila peratusan 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉 yang dibekalkan kepada motor aruhan ditingkatkan, kelajuan motor menurun. Hal ini menyebabkan kuasa keluaran berkurangan dan sekali gus menyebabkan berkurangan kepada kecekapan motor. Selain daripada itu, suhu motor turut meningkat hasil daripada peningkatan peratusan 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉. Dengan tidak menjadikan beban sebagai pemalar tetap, peningkatan peratusan 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉 akan menurunkan daya kilas pada motor aruhan. Motor aruhan ini akan beroperasi pada kadar maksimum semasa 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉 bersamaan 1.0%, dengan kelajuan 1402 rpm, pada suhu 32 ℃ dan kecekapan bersamaan 69.29% semasa beban yang dibekalkan adalah penuh, 1.0 Nm. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ This project is carried out to investigate the effect of harmonic voltage supply to three phase induction motor performance, particularly emphasis to speed, temperature, torque and efficiency of the motor. Besides, a recommended maximum total harmonic distortion (𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉) that can be used by the three phase induction motor without any damage is proposed at the end of this project. For this project, light dimmer has been use as a non-linear voltage regulator in order to distort the sinusoidal waveform from the voltage supply that feed voltage to the three phase induction motor. The knob of the light dimmer is controlled and set to the same value for all the three phase to get various percentage of 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉. For each of the 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉, the dimmer is varied from the no load to full load condition. The percentage of 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉 has been measured by using Power Quality Analyzer, Fluke 43B. At constant motor load, the percentage of 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉 is varied from minimum to maximum value, the speed of the motor decreases. This produced low power output and result decrease in efficiency of the motor. Other than that, the temperature of the motor also increases as percentage of 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉 is increased. Under varying load conditions, as the 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉 is increased, the load of the motor is decreased. For this project, the motor that has been used has its best performance while 𝑇𝐻𝐷𝑉 is at 1.0% with the highest speed 1402 rpm, while temperature is 32℃, efficiency equal to 68.29% with the full load condition, 1.0 Nm.
