Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) sebuah agensi angkasa dunia telah membangunkan algoritma baru dalam memampatkan imej multispectral & hyperspectral dirakam oleh pesawat dan satelit menggunakan sensor jauh. Algoritma CCSDS-123 ini telah diperkenalkan untuk mengatasi isu-isu yang berlaku untuk senario di atas kapal(satelit) yang penyimpanan dan penghantarannya ke atas pautan satelit komunikasi sangat terhad. Algoritma yang dicadangkan juga mensasarkan mampatan tanpa sebarang kekurangan sebagai hasilnya. Kajian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis prinsip kerja algoritma dan melaksanakannya ke dalam platform C / C ++ menggunakan teknik-teknik tertentu. Kod ini kemudian akan diuji dengan imej hyperspectral sebenar yang diperoleh daripada pangkalan data Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer(AVIRIS) untuk menghasilkan keputusan yang boleh dikaji dari segi keseluruhan masa pelaksanaan untuk mengekod data. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems(CCSDS) had developed a new algorithm in compressing the multispectral & hyperspectral image captured by aircraft and satellites using remote sensors. This algorithm CCSDS-123 had been introduced to overcome the issues that occur for on-board scenario which are adequate storing and transmission over the satellites communications links. The proposed algorithm also targeting the lossless compression as a result. This research is conduct to analyses the working principles of the algorithm and implement it into the C/C++ environment using certain technique. The code then will test with the actual hyperspectral image from the Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer (AVIRIS) database to produce an acceptable result in term of overall execution time to encode the data
