Pengagihan beban berekonomi (ELD) merupakan salah satu cara kuasa diagihkan daripada pusat penjanaan kuasa kepada beban dengan kos bahan api yang paling rendah. Kos bahan api penjanaan boleh ditafsirkan di dalam bentuk persamaan quadratik dan persamaan ini boleh diselesaikan menggunakan beberapa kaedah seperti kaedah Lamda berulang, kaedah kecerunan dan kaedah Newton-Raphson. Walaubagaimanapun, kaedah-kaedah tertera boleh diselesaikan apabila kos bahan api tambahan di dalam bentuk linear piecewise. Tambahan pula, jangka masa dan kos optimum untuk sistem yang besar tidak menghasilkan pengoptimuman yang bagus untuk diagihkan. Maka, kaedah-kaedah metaheuristik seperti Algoritma Pengoptimuman Kumpulan Zarah (PSO), Algoritma Koloni Lebah Buatan (ABC), dan Algoritma Genetik perlu digunakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut Di dalam projek ini, kaedah-kaedah PSO, GA dan ABC diaplikasikan ke dalam Matlab untuk menyelesaikan ELD. Akhir sekali, outputnya telah dianalisikan dan dibandingkan diantara ketiga-tiga algoritma tersebut. Pada sistem 15 tes unit dan sistem 20 tes unit, ABC telah memberikan hasil yang paling stabil dan masa pengiraan terpantas berbanding dengan PSO dan GA. Pada sistem IEEE 30 bus, GA telah memberikan hasil yang paling stabil dan masa pengiraan terpantas berbanding dengan PSO dan ABC. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Economic dispatch (ELD) is a way of optimization to dispatch power from the generation facilities to the load with minimum fuel cost. The fuel cost of generation can be represented in the form quadratic equation and this can be solved in numerous method such as Lambda-Iterative method, Gradient method and Newton-Raphson method. However, those mention methods can only be solved when the incremental fuel cost is in the form of piecewise linear. Modern metaheuristic methods such as Particle Swarm Optimisation method (PSO), Genetic Algorithm method (GA) and Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm method (ABC) need to be implemented to solve the problem. In this project, PSO, GA and ABC methods were applied in the MATLAB to solve the ELD. Lastly, the outputs had been analysed and compared among the three algorithms. For 15 unit test system and 20 unit test system, ABC had most stable outcome with the shortest computation time. For IEEE 30 bus system, GA had the most stable outcome however the computation time was not the shortest for GA. PSO outdone GA in term of speed but the overall best performance would be GA.
