Sistem pencahayaan yang pintar yang dapat mengesan kehadiran kenderaan dan manusia dan mengawal kecerahan lampu secara automatik mengikut aktiviti kenderaan dan manusia sebenarnya direka untuk tujuan penjimatan tenaga elektrik. Dalam projek ini, sensor jarak induktif telah digunakan sebagai alat untuk mengesan kehadiran kenderan di depan rumah pengawal kawasan penduduk dan seterusnya mengawal kecerahan lampu mengikut pengerakan kenderaan. Lampu depan rumah pengwal kawasan penduduk dikawali oleh sensor LDR. Sensor LDR juga digunakan untuk mengesan cahaya pesekitaran kawasan penduduk dan seterusnya memadamkan lampu depan rumah pengawal semasa pagi dan menyalakan lampu depan semasa malam untuk penjimatan tenaga. Platform perkakasan Arduino Intel Galileo telah digunakan untuk memproses peranti seperti sensor dan lampu dan ia diaturcara dengan menggunakan kod pengaturcaraan C untuk mendapatkan fungsi yang dikehendaki. Kaedah kawalan PIR sensor juga digunakan oleh mikropengawal untuk mengawal penggerakan manusia dan kenderaan. Kaedah kawalan, pengaturcaraan, perkakasan dan perisian pelaksanaan dan penilaian telah digunakan untuk membangunkan projek ini. Sistem pencahayaan yang pintar ini juga boleh digunakan dalam kawasan industri, lebuh raya atau tempat yang tahap pencahayaan perlu dikawal dan diselaraskan supaya dapat mengelakkan pembaziran penggunaan tenaga elektrik. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ A smart lighting system which is able to detect the presence of vehicles and human and automatically adjust the lighting pattern according to vehicles movement and human activities is designed for the purpose of energy saving. In this project, an inductive proximity sensor is used to detect the presence of vehicles presence in resident area and automatically adjust the intensity of light according to the vehicles movement and speed. Basically there is a front light at guardhouse of resident area controlled by LDR sensor. A LDR sensor is used to detect the presence of light from environmental of resident area and turn off the front light during daytime and turn on the front light during nighttime for energy saving purpose. An Arduino Intel Galileo hardware platform is used to interface between sensors and lighting and it is programmed using C programming language. PIR sensor is used to sense any vehicles or human movement presence in resident area. A system methodology for system design, hardware implementation, software programming and system evaluation are followed in this project. The smart lighting system is also applicable in industrial area, highway, Main Street and places where the lighting level needs to be controlled and adjusted in order to save energy.
