​BS 3262-3:1989, titled "Hot-applied thermoplastic road marking materials – Specification for application of material to road surfaces," outlines the requirements for applying white, yellow, and black thermoplastic materials that are melted and applied hot to road surfaces. These materials are used to create thin, superimposed markings such as center lines, edge lines, and pedestrian crossing stripes. The standard does not cover thermoplastic materials intended to be inset into road surfaces.
