Kemunculan teknologi seperti Bluetooth telah membolehkan pembangunan industri komunikasi jangka pendek. Dengan peranan Bluetooth dalam teknologi jaringan peribadi tanpa wayar (Wireless Personal Area Network – WPAN), ia telah direka dengan ciri-ciri utama untuk aplikasi dalam penggantian kabel. Selari dengan menigkatnya keperluan Bluetooth dalam kehidupan seharian kita, adalah amat penting untuk kita untuk membuat kajian tentang system ini. Dengan pengetahuan yang lebih mendalam tentang system Bluetooth amatlah penting untuk peningkatan system ini pada masa akan datang. Isu terpenting tesis ini ialah membuat kajian tentang sistem Bluetooth termasuklah model basik dan Enhanced Data Rate – EDR. Dalam projek ini, saya akan menfokus pada model 8DPSK dimana model 8DPSK dibina dan disimulasi. Modulasi dan demodulasi 8DPSK akan dibuat dengan ADS (Advanced Design System). Ujian kadar kesalahan bit (Bit Error Rate – BER) akan dilaksanakan untuk menilai keputusan demodulasi. Daripada keputusan simulasi, 3 elemen penting sistem Bluetooth EDR adalah filter penerima, synchronization dan keadaan medium. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Emerging technologies such as Bluetooth and 802.11b (Wi-Fi) have fuelled the growth of the short-range communication industry. Bluetooth, the leading WPAN (wireless personal are network) technology, was designed primarily for cable replacement applications. With the growing importance of the Bluetooth in our daily life, it is important to develop an understanding of the performance of the system. With the knowledge and understanding on Bluetooth system can be useful for future improvements. The main issue of this thesis is to make a study about Bluetooth system including the basic rate and the Enhanced Data Rate, EDR models. In this project, I am focusing on the 8dpsk model where the 8DPSK model was built and simulated. The 8DPSK digital modulation and demodulation were implemented in ADS (Advanced Design System). The Bit Error Rate, BER was tested to evaluate the demodulation results. From the simulation results, the receiver filter, synchronization and channel conditions were three key points in the Bluetooth EDR system.
