Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengkaji taburan tekanan angin pada sebuah bangunan setingkat dengan bumbung ‘gable’ dan kepelbagaian sudut bumbung sederhana (10° hingga 30°) dan dedahan kawasan pinggir bandar yang dikenakan beban angin semasa kejadian ribut kencang. Model yang dikaji terdiri daripada gabungan sebuah rumah teras dan rumah dapur. Kajian ini mempertimbangkan lima jenis konfigurasi rumah dapur konfigurasi yang berbeza dan kajian ini diperpanjangkan dipanjangkan menggunakan tiga sudut bumbung berbeza. Geometri dan jejaring model telah dihasilkan menggunakan pakej perisian GAMBIT dan analisis telah dijalankan menggunakan Pengiraan Bendalir Dinamik (CFD) terdapat pada ANSYS FLUENT 14. RNG k-ε telah digunakan sebagai model pergolakan. Bagi memastikan penggunaan arahan dan input data yang betul, ujian pengesahan telah dijalankan berdasarkan kajian terdahulu dan terbukti menghasilkan persamaan yang baik. Keputusan yang dibentangkan dalam kajian ini adalah dari segi pekali tekanan (Cp) dan pola aliran. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa kedudukan rumah dapur mempengaruhi pengagihan tekanan di atas bumbung terutama pada kecerunan bumbung yang lebih rendah dan apabila rumah dapur itu terletak setentang dengan arahan aliran angin. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The aim of this study is to examine the wind pressure distribution on a single storey gable roof building of intermediate roof angles (10° to 30°) in suburban area exposure when subjected to wind loading during a windstorm occurrence. The models studied consisted of a combination of a core house and a kitchen house. The study considered five different kitchen house configurations and the work was extended using three different roof angles. The geometry and meshing of models were generated using GAMBIT software package and the analysis was carried out using Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) embedded in ANSYS FLUENT 14. RNG k-ε was utilised as the turbulence model. In order to ensure correct usage of the command and input data, validation exercise was carried out based on previous study and was proven to be in good agreement. The results being presented in term of net pressure coefficient (Cp) over the house surface and streamline. The results showed that the positions of the kitchen house affected the pressure distribution over the roof especially at lower roof pitches and when the kitchen house was located at the windward side.
