Rawatan Kadmium dalam larutan akueus menggunakan cecair emulsi
membran (ELM) telah disiasat. ELM berasaskan petroleum telah digantikan dengan
minyak sayuran sebagai pencair untuk membran yang lebih mesra alam. Lima
parameter telah dikaji: kepekatan HCl, kepekatan ammonia, nisbah fasa luar terhadap
emulsi, kelajuan putaran dan masa pengekstrakan. Pengoptimuman parameter telah
dikaji dengan menggunakan dua kaedah: kaedah satu faktor pada satu masa (OFAT)
dan Kaedah Permukaan Sambutan (RSM). Kecekapan bagi kadah OFAT ialah 98.98%
manakala kaedah RSM mencatatkan kecekapan 99.28%.

The treatment of Cadmium in aqueous solution using emulsion liquid
membrane (ELM) has been investigated. Petroleum-based ELM was replaced by
vegetable oil as the diluent for greener liquid membrane. Five parameters were studied:
HCl concentration, ammonia concentration, ratio of external phase to the emulsion
phase, stirring speed and extraction time. The optimization of the parameters were
studied using two methods: one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT) method and Response
Surface Methodology (RSM). The efficiency for OFAT method is 98.98% while for
the RSM method is 99.28%.
