Matlamat utama projek ini adalah untuk merekabentuk satu litar pemenggal arus terus untuk aplikasi 5V, 10A. Fungsi litar ini adalah untuk menukar satu sumber masukan voltan arus terus kepada keluaran voltan arus terus. Voltan masukan diantara 10V hingga 48V boleh digunakan. Tetapi dalam projek ini, voltan masukan 10V dipilih. Projek ini juga mensasarkan kecekapan litar melebihi 80%. Analisis litar dijalankan menggunakan perisian Psim bagi menguji litar yang telah direkabentuk. Di antara analisis-analisis yang dijalankan adalah mengubah nilai-nilai parameter seperti frekuensi pensuisan dan kitar tugas agar sesuai dengan keperluan litar. Rekabentuk litar pensuisan pula menggunakan teknik PWM yang mampu menghasilkan isyarat dengan kadar tempoh pensuisan yang pantas. Untuk memastikan litar pemenggal beroperasi pada kecekapan yang tinggi, frekuensi pensuisan yang baik ditentukan. Litar bekalan kuasa yang menjadi masukan voltan arus terus juga direkabentuk. Litar bekalan kuasa ini mengandungi penerus titi yang berfunsi sebagai penukar voltan arus ulang-alik kepada voltan arus terus. Keseluruhan projek menggunakan pendekatan dalam bidang elektronik kuasa. _________________________________________________________________________________________ The main objective of this project is to design dc converter or well-known as dc chopper for 5V, 10A application. The use of chopper circuit is to convert an unregulated dc voltage from the supply to the regulated dc voltage. The input voltage can be varied from 10V to 36V. Anyway, 10V input voltage has been choose. This project should be design with high efficiency which is 80%. By using the Pesim, analysis of chopper circuit has been made. This approach is used to determine whether the circuit was design correctly and having a good condition. Analysis has been made by varying the switching frequency which will result in good efficiency due to no power dissipated at switch used. When switch is use, control circuit is required to control the switch. In this project, PWM technique is used. It can switch the transistor very fast. That’s why this technique is used. In addition, this technique will ensure good performance. To ensure that the chopper circuit operated at high efficiency, the appropriate frequency should be determined. In this project, 20kHz frequency with 50us for each switching cycle have been choose. Power supply for chopper circuit is also designed. It contains a rectifier circuit which is function to convert ac voltage from the main power supply to dc voltage. The theory in power electronics are widely used in this project.
