Sistem perhubungan menggunakan gentian optic adalah sistem yang menggunakan cahaya sebagai medium perambatan. Sistem perhubungan merupakan satu sistem yang mengandungi satu penghantar yang menghasilkan cahaya daripada arus elektrik, seterusnya cahaya tersebut akan merambat melalui gentian optic kabel kepada penerima. Penerima akan menerima cahaya tersebut dan tukar kepada arus elektrik. Projek ini adalah untuk merekabentuk sistem perhubungan gentian optic yang mempunyai lebar pita 100kHz dan 3MHz. Penerima hentaklah mempunyai lebar pita 100kHz dan 3MHz masing-masing. Kedua-dua penghantar dan penerima perlu mempunyai lebar berkesan 20dB hingga 30dB, dan nisbah isyarat kepada hingar antara 50dB hingga 60dB. Dalam projek ini, LED dan PIN diod peka cahaya digunakan sebagai penghantar dan penerima masing-masing. BJT 3391A digunnakan sebagai penguat dalam litar penghantar. Manakala dalam litar penerima, JFET 4339 digunakan sebagai penguat. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Optical communication is any form of telecommunication that uses light as the transmission medium. An optical communication system consist of a transmitter which encodes a message into an optical signal, a channel, which carries that signal to its destination, and a receiver, which reproduces the message from the receiver optical signal. This project is to design a set of optical communication system with transmitter and receiver. Two receivers with 100kHz bandwidth and 3MHz bandwidth respectively had been designed. Both receivers have minimum effective range 20dB to 30dB, and SNR 50dB to 60dB. For this project, LED and PIN photodiode had been used as emitter and detector respectively. For transmitter, BJT 3391A was used for the circuit, while for the receiver, JFET 4339 was used.
