Material Tested: Applies to plastics and polymeric materials to assess their thermal properties.
Purpose: Determines the flammability temperature, which is the temperature at which the material ignites and sustains combustion under specified conditions.
Methods Included:
Method 143A: A procedure for measuring the ignition temperature under controlled conditions.
Method 143B: A procedure for assessing the self-ignition temperature, where the material ignites without an external flame source.
Applications: Useful for evaluating fire safety characteristics, material selection, and compliance with safety regulations in various industries, including construction, automotive, and electronics.
