BS 2782-11:Method 1108A:1989 is a British Standard that outlines a method for determining the resistance of thermoplastic pipes to external impacts using a falling striker. This test is particularly relevant for assessing the durability of pipes intended for non-pressure applications. The procedure involves subjecting pipe samples to one or more specified blows and analyzing the results to estimate the True Impact Rate (TIR) at the 10% failure threshold when tested at 20°C. This standard is primarily used for quality control and acceptance testing of isolated batches of pipes.
