Sifat kejuruteraan konkrit getah remah yang mengandungi metakaolin atau abu sekam padi (RHA) telah diselidiki. Experimen terdiri daripada ujian slump, kepadatan konkrit, kekuatan mampatan, kekuatan lenturan, modulus keanjalan (statik) dan kelajuan pulsa ultrasonik (UPV). Semua ujian atas konkrit keras dijalankan pada umur konkrit 7, 14, 28 dan 56 hari kecuali modulus yang hanya dijalankan pada umur konkrit 28 hari sahaja. Semua 9 konkrit ujian terdiri daripada semen, agregat kasar dan halus, superplasticizer, dan air dengan proporsi pembolehubah yang berbeza termasuk getah remah, metakaolin, dan RHA. Getah Remah mengurangkan paling sedikit kebolehkerjaan, diikuti oleh RHA dan metakaolin mengurangkan banyak kebolehkerjaan. Kombinasi dari pembolehubah juga mempunyai kecenderungan yang sama. Kepadatan konkrit menurun mengikut urutan RHA, OPC, metakaolin, dan konkrit getah remah. Metakaolin dan RHA mengurangkan sedikit kepadatan konkrit getah remah. RHA menunjukkan prestasi yang lebih baik dalam kekuatan mampatan dan kekuatan lenturan daripada metakaolin, diikuti oleh konkrit OPC, dan konkrit getah remah. RHA menguatkan kekuatan mampatan dan lenturan konkrit getah remah. Metakaolin hanya menguatkan kekuatan awal mampatan dan lenturan kecuali kekuatan lenturan konkrit getah remah 15%, dan tidak menguatkan banyak kekuatan dalam tahap yang selanjutnya. Untuk modulus keanjalan, konkrit metakaolin mempunyai modulus tertinggi diikuti oleh konkrit RHA dan konkrit OPC. Metakaolin menambah lebih kekuatan kepada modulus elastisiti konkrit getah remah daripada RHA. ___________________________________________________________________________________ The engineering properties of crumb rubber concrete containing metakaolin and rice husk ash (RHA) have been investigated. Experiment consists of testing of fresh concrete properties via slump test, as well as hardened concrete properties namely concrete density, compressive strength, flexural strength, modulus of elasticity (static), and ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV). All hardened concrete tests were performed on 7, 14, 28 and 56 days except for elastic modulus which was done on 28 days. All 9 experimental mixes consist of cement, coarse and fine aggregates, superplasticizer, and water with different proportions of crumb rubber content, metakaolin, and RHA. Crumb rubber reduces the least workability, followed by RHA and metakaolin reduce the most for workability, combinations of variables also have similar trend. The densities of concrete decreases in the following order, RHA, normal, metakaolin, and crumb rubber concrete. Metakaolin and RHA slightly reduce the density of crumb rubber concrete. RHA shows better compressive and flexural strength performance than metakaolin, than OPC concrete, and crumb rubber concrete. For enhancement of crumb rubber concrete properties by RHA virtually enhance compressive and flexural strength. Metakaolin basically enhance the early age compressive and flexural strength except flexural strength of 15% crumb rubber concrete, and does not enhance well at later stage. For modulus of elasticity, metakaolin concrete has the highest modulus followed by RHA concrete and OPC concrete. Metakaolin provide greater enhancement on elastic modulus of crumb rubber concrete compared to RHA.
