Penyinkiran logam daripada air hujan yang menyerap masuk ke dalam tanah melalui liang-liang asphalt merupakan salah satu kebimbangan alam sekitar yg utama kerana logam yang terlarut di dalam hujan berkemungkinan daripada hasil bio-kilang dan toksik hidupan sekeliling. Dalam kajian ini lebih tertumpu kepada penyikiran Zink dan Plumbum dengan mengunakan beberapa jenis bahan penyerap seperti batu kapur, zeolite, karbon teraktid, pasir dan tayar halus. Kaedah kajian tiang telah dijalankan untuk semua sampel. Semua bahan penyerap disediakan dengan teliti sebelum ujian dijalankan. Separa air hujan di dalam kajian ini telah disediakan untuk mendapatkan larutan Zinc (0.21 mg/L) dan larutan Plumbum (20 μg/L). Setiap sampel untuk larutan Zink dan Plumbum telah diuji dengan pelbagai jenis lapisan penyerap yang berbeza dalam 10 cm ketinggian ujian tiang dan saiz zarah bagi setiap penyerap jugak sama. Hasil sampel yang diperolehi daripada ujian tiang diukur kepekatan dengan mengunakan kaedah Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS). Hasil ujian menunjukkan, 81% daripada semua sample berjaya mengurangkan kepekatan larutan Zink, dan 100% prngurangan untuk larutan Plumbum. Penyikiran larutan Zink menunjukan bahawa penyikiran lepekatan yang tertinggi adalah ujian tiang yang mengandungi campuran zeolite dan pasir (87.62%), 100% kandungan batu kapur (84.76%), karbon teraktif dan pasir (79.05%), zeolite dan karbon teraktif (76.67%), dan 100% kandungan zeolite (71.90%). Kesimpulanya, gabungan dua jenis penyerap boleh menghasilkan keputusan yang baik dalam penyingkiran larutan Zink. Pada masa yang sama, kaedah ini merupakan salah satu kaedah yang berkesan untuk menyingkirkan Plumbum. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The removal of heavy metal from rainwater that infiltrated into the groundwater from porous asphalt is one of the most important environment concerns because metal are bio-factory and toxic to many life forms. In this research it is more focusing on removal of Zinc and Plumbum by using difference type of adsorbent such as limestone, zeolite, activated carbon, sand and shredded tyre. All the samples have been carried out by using column study method. All adsorbent were prepared carefully before carried out the test. Semi-synthetic wastewater in this experiment were prepared with Zinc solution (0.21 mg/L) and Plumbum solution (20 μg/L). Each of Zinc and Plumbum solution were tested with different type of absorbent either as a single layer adsorbent or various layers adsorbent with 10 cm height in column test and within the same particle size of all adsorbent. The remaining metal concentrations in semi-synthetic solutions were measured by using Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS) method. From the result, 81% of the sample is successfully decreasing the concentration of Zinc and 100% decreasing the concentration of Plumbum. Removal of Zinc showing that the highest concentration removal is by using combination of zeolite and sand (87.62%), 100% of limestone (84.76%), activated carbon and sand (79.05%), zeolite and activated carbon (76.67%) and 100% zeolite content (71.90%). As conclusion, combination of double layers adsorbents can perform a better result in removing Zinc solution. In other hand, Plumbum solution is easily remove by any adsorbents.
