Pada dunia sekarang, pengelog data suhu digunakan secare meluas tetapi kebanyakan pengelog data suhu menggunakan micropemproses dan micropengawal. Walau bagaimana pun, teknologi ini mempunyai hadnya dari segi kos, muatan dan saiz peranti. Untuk mengatasi had ini, teknologi FPGA akan dilaksanakan dalam projek ini untuk merekabentuk pengelog data suhu tanpa dawai. Sistem ini akan dikawal sepenuhnya oleh pemproses Altera FPGA model APEX – EP20K200EFC484-2X dengan menggunakan perisian “Quartus II 7.2 sp2 Web Edition”. Bahasa utama yang digunakan ialah VHDL. Pertama sekali, suhu akan diukur oleh penderia suhu SHT75 dan data tersebut akan dihantar ke pemproses FPGA untuk tujuan pemprosesan. Kemudian, pemproses FPGA akan menghantar data tersebut ke transceiver nRF905 untuk penghantaran tanpa dawai kepada transceiver nRF905 yang lagi satu yang berfungsi sebagai penerima. Data yang diterima oleh penerima akan dihantar ke pemproses FPGA supaya papan itu dapat memprosesnya dan memaparkan nilai suhu di LCD. Nilai suhu tersubut akan dipaparkan sehingga ke satu tempat perpuluhan. Penderia suhu SHT75 dapat mengukur suhu dari -40.0oC ke 123.8oC dan ini sudah mencukupi bagi projek ini. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Temperature data logger is widely being used in the world today but most of the temperature data loggers were using microprocessor and microcontroller. However, this technology has its limitation in terms of cost, capacity and size of the device. To overcome this limitation, in this project FPGA technology will be implemented to design a wireless temperature data logger. This system will be fully controlled by an Altera FPGA processor model APEX – EP20K200EFC484-2X using software “Quartus II 7.2 sp2 Web Edition”. The main language used will be VHDL code. First, temperature will be measure by temperature sensor SHT75 and the data will be sent to the FPGA board for processing. Then, the FPGA board will send the data to the transceiver nRF905 to be transmitted in wireless to another transceiver nRF905 that perform as a receiver. The data received by the receiver will be sent to the FPGA board so that the board can process it and display the temperature value on the LCD. The temperature value will be display until one decimal point. The SHT 75 sensor could measure temperature in range of -40.0oC to 123.8oC and this is sufficient for the purpose of the project.
