Ujian tarik keluar kebiasaannya dilakukan ke atas jalur tetulang untuk mengkaji geseran dalaman antara tanah dan jalur tetulang di dalam tanah. Dalam kajian ini, anggota sauh yang berfungsi sebagai elemen ricih telah ditambah kepada jalur biasa yang sepanjang 6 m untuk meningkatkan pekali geseran dan keupayaan rintangan tarik keluar. Pasir digunakan sebagai tanah isi. Dalam kajian ini, jalur biasa dan jalur beranggota sauh 1 cm kedalaman dikenakan beban tarik keluar dan tegasan biasa 9.44 kPa, 13.69 kPa dan 15.4 kPa. Sebanyak enam ujian dilakukan dan kapasiti tarik keluar kedua-dua jalur dianalisis. Keputusan menunjukkan bahawa kapasiti tarik keluar tetulang meningkat dengan tambahan satu anggota sauh dan tegasan normal. Walaubagaimanapun pekali interaksi tanah dan tetulang akan meningkat dengan penambahan anggota sauh dan menurun dengan peningkatan tekanan biasa. Hasil daripada kajian ini memberi penjelasan bahawa sumbangan anggota sauh sebagai kaedah baru secara amnya boleh menawarkan penjimatan bahan jalur atau menyediakan kriteria reka bentuk tertentu untuk struktur MRE dalam ruang pembinaan yang terhad, kerana kenaikan dalam kapasiti tarik keluar tetulang boleh mengurangkan jumlah panjang atau jumlah jalur yang diperlukan dalam sesuatu projek. Tambahan pula, kajian ini menunjukkan pergerakan jalur tetulang berbeza daripada satu tarikan keluar ke satu tarikan keluar yang lain dan juga di sepanjang jalur pada tarik keluar yang sama yang menjelaskan bahawa jumlah anggota sauh yang datang dari setiap elemen adalah sukar untuk ditentukan, dan hanya nilai kapasiti tarikan untuk jalur keseluruhan boleh dinilai. Anjakan dari bahagian hadapan dan bahagian belakang jalur juga menunjukkan sifat tidak menentu kerana kejadian kelekatan dan slip sepanjang panjang jalur tetulang, dan hanya nilai kapasiti tarik keluar untuk jalur keseluruhan boleh dinilai. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Pullout test is normally carried out on a reinforcement strip in order to study the internal friction between soil and the embedded strip. In this study, transverse members or also known as anchorage elements which functioned as shear elements were attached to 6 m long conventional strip in order to increase the coefficient of friction thus the pullout capacity of the strip. Sand was used as the fill material. A plain strip and another with anchorage elements of 1 cm depth were subjected to pullout forces and normal stresses of 9.44 kPa, 13.69 kPa and 15.4 kPa. A total of six pullout tests were performed and the pullout capacities of both strips were analyzed. The results showed that the pullout capacity of a reinforcement strip increased with the addition of the anchorage elements and with increasing normal stress. However, the soil-reinforcement interaction coefficient only increased with the addition of anchorage elements but decreased with increasing normal stress. The outcomes from this study suggested that the anchorage elements could be used as new method of a saving of strip material or providing a particular design criteria for MRE structure in limited construction space, since the increment in the pullout capacity of reinforcement strip could reduce the total length or amount of strips required in a project. Furthermore the study also showed that the mobilization of a reinforcement strip could vary from one pullout to another as well as along the length of a strip in the same pullout, which implies that the amount of anchorage coming from each element is difficult to determine, and only the pullout capacity value for a whole strip could be evaluated. The displacements of the front end and rear end of a strip also could show erratic behaviour due to stick and slip occurrence along the length, and again only the pullout capacity value for a whole strip could be evaluated.
