Satu prototaip pengesan warna yang mempunyai keupayaan untuk mengenalpasti dan memaparkan daripada 64 nama warna degan menggunakan modal RGB telah direka. Reka bentuk ini mampu mengesan warna sekurang-kurangnya dua bahan rata yang berlainan, seperti kertas berkilat dan kertas warna biasa, dan dapat meningkatkan ketepatan melalui penentukuran. Reka bentuk ini menggunakan RGB LED sebagai sumber cahaya untuk menerangi ke permukaan spesimen. Ini mencerminkan cahaya warna utama diukur dengan fotodiod bersepadukan TIA dari segi voltan. Mikropengawal PIC16F887 terlibat dalam kawalan operasi dan pemprosesan data serta pelaksanaan memaparkan nilai RGB dan nama warna pada LCD. Ketepatan dan kepekaan reka bentuk ini dalam mengesan warna adalah kurang daripada kolorimeter, spektrometer, dan sensor warna yang terdapat di pasaran, tetapi mencukupi untuk penggunaan biasa setiap hari. Reka bentuk yang kos efektif ini sesuai membantu pesakit yang terjejas penglihatan dalam membezakan warna dalam kehidupan seharian kita. Reka bentuk ini mengesan sampel warna dengan betul bagi kebanyakan sampel warna, namun tidakan yang seterusnya amat diperlukan, terutamanya dalam peningkatan ketepatan, kelajuan, dan ciri-ciri tambahan, seperti keupayaan pengesanan warna bahan-bahan bercahaya pancaran. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ A prototype of a colour sensing device which has the capabilities to recognize and display out 64 different names of colours using RGB colour spaces has been designed. This design is able to detect at least two types of flat materials’ colour, such as glossy paper and normal colour paper, and able to improve its accuracy through calibration. This design uses RGB LED as light source to illuminate to the specimen surface. The reflected primary colour light is measured by photodiode with integrated TIA in term of voltage. Microcontroller PIC16F887 is involved in operation control and data processing, displaying the RGB value and name of colour on LCD. The accuracy and sensitivity of this design in detecting colour is less than that of colorimeter, spectrometer, and available colour sensor in the market, yet sufficient for daily common usage. This cost-effective design is suitable at helping vision-impaired patients in differentiating colour approximately in our daily life. This design detects the colour correctly for a major number of colour samples, yet further action is required in accuracy improvement, speed optimisation, and feature addition, such as detection ability at the colour of light-emissive materials.
