This Final Year Project is a course for Bachelor Of Electronic Engineering. This River Depth project design use frequency of 4.9 kHz sound wave in its system. The factor that the sound wave is used in measuring the depth of the river is because of its average speed of 1500 m/s in liquid. The project is limited to measure the depth of 5 to 10 meter. The wave swing is in sinusoidal shape with a single frequency to reduce the harmonic during reflection and will ease the detection. The 8031 microcontroller (8051 family) is controlling the overall circuitry. The program in microcontroller will fix the amount of cycle that transmit through an analog switch and count the distances the wave has traveled, then displayed on a liquid crystal display in digital forms. The T-bridge network is used for the oscillator and the high Q multiple feedback filter to operate at the frequency stated. The comparator and the debounce switch is to ensure the suitable input to the microcontroller. And finally the piezo transducers are used to transmit and receive the sound wave.
