Matlamat kajian ini adalah untuk mengenalpasti risiko signifikan dalam projek pembinaan terowong di Malaysia. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenalpasti jenis risiko dalam praktis industi pembinaan, mengenalpasti risiko dalam projek pembinaan terowong di Malaysia melalui kajian selidik dan menentukan kedudukan risiko dalam projek pembinaan terowong di Malaysia. Hasil kajian ini akan membantu sektor industri pembinaan terowong untuk menguruskan risiko signifikan yang akan membawa kesan kepada industri pembinaan. Hasil kajian ini akan memanfaatkan golongan industri pembinaan terowong seperti perunding, kontrakrtor dan pemilik terowong. Kajian ini dijalankan melalui kajian selidik terhadap sebuah projek terowong di Malaysia. Sesi soal jawab dijalankan untuk mengumpul data bagi analisa perisian Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Kedudukan risiko ditentukan daripada analisa AHP mengunakan perbandingan berpasangan. Kedudukan risiko menunjukkan kesihatan dan keselamatan pekerjaan, peningkatan kos dan penangguhan adalah antara risiko signifikan dalam industri pembinaan terowong.

This research attempts to identify the significant risks in tunnelling construction projects in Malaysia. The objectives of this research are to identify types of risk in construction industry practice, to identify risks in tunnelling construction projects in Malaysia via a case study and to determine risk ranking for tunnelling construction projects in Malaysia. The outcome of the research will help the tunnelling construction industry to manage the significant risks that would bring impact to the construction. The outcome would benefit the tunnelling construction industry players such as the consultants, the contractors as well as the owner of the tunnel. This research is carried out through a case study on a tunnel project in Malaysia. Interviews are conducted to generate data for the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Risk ranking is determined from the analysis of AHP using pair wise verbal comparison. The ranking shows health and safety, cost overrun and time overrun are among the significant risks in tunnelling construction projects.
