Jumlah tenaga yang digunakan di dalam bangunan merupakan perkara utama dalam isu-isu kecekapan tenaga. Oleh itu, usaha untuk mengesan jumlah tenaga yang digunakan adalah perlu untuk menangani masalah kecekapan tenaga. Dalam projek ini, analisis penggunaan terperinci tenaga di Pusat Pengajian Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik (PPKEE), Kampus Kejuruteraan, Universiti Sains Malaysia dijalankan. Adalah didapati PPKEE mempunyai bil elektrik paling tinggi berbanding dengan Pusat- pusat Pengajian yang lain di Kampus Kejuruteraan. Alatan Penganalisis Kuasa Suatu 43B Fasa Tunggal digunakan untuk mengukur jumlah kuasa sebenar di 54 ruang pejabat di PPKEE termasuk makmal, bilik kuliah dan bilik-bilik pentadbiran. Pengukuran telah diambil selama 13 hari yang dibahagikan kepada 3 kategori iaitu minggu pengajian, cuti pertengahan semester dan hujung minggu. Beberapa parameter yang digunakan untuk penilaian tenaga juga dikumpulkan. Ini termasuk parameter dimensi seperti ruang bangunan dan jenis bangunan dan parameter persekitaran seperti suhu luar. Data yang dikumpul adalah digunakan untuk mengira faktor kecekapan tenaga (ERF). ERF dikira untuk kajian ini kerana ia memberikan tahap kecekapan tenaga yang berterusan dan bukan yang pada ketika tertentu dalam domain masa. Berdasarkan kajian yang dilakukan, ERF bilik pensyarah pada minggu kajian adalah 7.35, semasa cuti pertengahan semester adalah 7.60 dan hujung minggu adalah 8.10. Oleh itu, kesimpulannya kecekapan di PPKEE berada pada tahap baik. Nilai yang diperolehi boleh digunakan untuk menyediakan cadangan realistik untuk PPKEE dalam meningkatkan penggunaan tenaga. ___________________________________________________________________________________ The amount of energy consumes in building is of main concern in energy efficiency issues. Thus, it is necessary to track the amount the energy consumes in order to deal with energy efficiency problems. In this project, an investigation of the itemised energy usage at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (SEEE), Engineering Campus, Universiti Sains Malaysia is conducted. It is noted that SEEE has the highest electricity bills compared to the other schools in the Engineering Campus. The fluke Power Quality Analyser 43B single phase is used to measure the total real power in 54 office spaces at SEE including laboratories, lecture rooms and administrative rooms. The measurement were taken for 13 days and they are divided into 3 categories which are study week, mid semester break and weekends. Several parameter that are used for energy evaluation are also collected. This includes dimensional parameter such as building space and building types and environmental parameter such as external temperature. The data collected are used to calculate the energy rating factor (ERF). The ERF calculated for this study has the advantage that it gives the continuous energy efficiency level rather that at a given instant in time domain. It is found that the ERF for lecturer room in the study week is 7.35, during mid-semester break is 7.60 and weekend is 8.10. Thus, it can be concluded that the overall efficiency of SEE is considered good. The values obtained can be used to provide realistic recommendation for SEE in improving the energy consumption.
