Kebolehaliran adalah ukuran kebolehan air untuk mengalirkan arus elektrik. Kebolehaliran air adalah sangat penting kerana ianya mendedahkan kemasinan air dan juga kepekatan mineral dan bahan cemar yang lain. Kebolehaliran biasanya bergantung kepada suhu, jumlah pepejal termendap dan juga kemasinan air. Dalam kajian ini, pengukuran kebolehaliran air dijalankan di Sungai Kerian di dua tapak. Tapak yang pertama adalah di Pintu Air Ampang Jajar dan tapak kedua ialah di Ban Pecah, Tanjung Piandang. Pengukuran kebolehaliran ialah dengan menggunakan alat yang dikenali sebagai YSI Professional Plus. Alat ini boleh menangani parameter yang bervariasi seperti oksigen terlarut, kebolehaliran,, jumlah pepejal terlarut, kemasinan, kerintangan, pH dan suhu. Dalam kajian ini juga, pengukuran kebolehaliran air dijalankan di empat kedalaman yang berbeza iaitu di permukaan, 0.6m, 3m dan 5m. Selain itu, pengkuran juga dijalankan di dua tempat yang berbeza di setiap tapak. Nilai suhu dan kebolehaliran didapati apabila alat terendam di dalam air. Nilai jumlah pepejal termendap dan kemasinan juga boleh didapati daripada alat. Daripada kajian ini, nilai kebolehaliran bagi tapak yang pertaman ialah diantara 55-65 µS/cm dan kebolehaliran bagi tapak yang kedua ialah diantara 50000-55000 µS/cm. Kajian juga menunjukkan nilai kebolealiran berubah dengan perubahan suhu dan secara tidak langsung turut memberi kesan kepada nilai jumlah pepejal terlarut, kemasinan dan kerintangan. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Conductivity is a measure of the ability of water to conduct an electric current. Conductivity of water is important because it reveals water salinity and the concentration of other minerals and contaminants. Conductivity commonly depends on temperature, total dissolved solid (TDS) and also salinity of water. In this study, the measurement of water conductivity is conducted at Kerian River in two site. The first site is at Pintu Air Ampang Jajar and the second site is at Ban Pecah, Tanjung Piandang. The measurement for conductivity is by using a probe called YSI Professional Plus. This probe can handle a variety of parameters such as dissolved oxygen, conductivity, total dissolved solids, salinity, resistivity, pH and temperature. In this study, the measurement of water conductivity is conducted in four different depth in each site which is on the surface, 0.6m, 3m and 5m. Besides that, the measurement is conducted at two different locations in each site. The temperature and conductivity value is determined when the probe is immersed in the water. The value of TDS and salinity also can be obtained from the probe. From the study, the range of conductivity value for site 1 is between 55-65 µS/cm whereas the conductivity value for site 2 is between 50000-55000 µS/cm. The study also shows that the conductivity value changes with the change of temperature and indirectly also affect the value of TDS, salinity and also resistivity.
