DD ENV 1992-1-6:1996 is a European pre-standard titled "Eurocode 2: Design of concrete structures - Part 1-6: General rules - Strength and stability of shell structures". It provides guidance for the design of concrete shell structures, such as cooling towers, tanks, and silos.
The pre-standard includes provisions for determining the loads and load combinations to be considered in the design of shell structures, as well as methods for calculating the strength and stability of the structure under these loads. It also provides guidelines for the detailing of reinforcement in the shell structure to ensure adequate strength and ductility.
DD ENV 1992-1-6:1996 was published as a pre-standard by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and was later replaced by EN 1992-1-1:2004 Eurocode 2: Design of concrete structures - Part 1-1: General rules and rules for buildings. EN 1992-1-1:2004 includes provisions for the design of shell structures as well as other types of concrete structures.
