BS EN 28662 is a European standard that discusses hand-held portable power tools. BS EN 28662-1 is the first part of the multi-part series that outlines the basic requirements for evaluating vibrations in the handles of hand-held power-driven tools.
Note: BS EN 28662-1 is not intended for the assessment of human exposure to vibrations.
Who is BS EN 28662-1 - Measurement of vibrations in the handle of hand-held portable power tools for?
BS EN 28662-1 on measurement of vibrations in the handle of hand-held portable power tools is useful for:
Hand-held portable power tool manufacturers
Design engineers
Why should you use BS EN 28662-1 - Measurement of vibrations in the handle of hand-held portable power tools?
Vibration on handheld or hand-guided machinery is measured to determine the vibration dose by combining the measured vibration accelerations with the time history over which the tool is used during a typical working day and to compare the vibrations from different tools or machinery or different models of the same tool.
BS EN 28662-1 guides you regarding instrumentation, measurement direction, and measurement location for measuring vibrations in the handle to improve the functioning of hand-held portable power tools.
BS EN 28662-1 also assist you with a laboratory measuring procedure for measuring vibrations that provide accurate and reproducible results as well as results that are as far as possible in agreement with results measured under real working conditions.
