Sifat-sifat konkrit beragregat tempurung kelapa sawit (OPS) yang mengandungi abu sisa kelapa sawit (POFA) telah dikaji. Kedua-dua OPS dan POFA adalah bahan sisa buangan dan sisa bahan bakar yang telah dikumpulkan dari kilang memproses biji kelapa sawit kepada minyak kelapa sawit mentah untuk dijadikan bahan dalam campuran konkrit. Agregat OPS telah dibersihkan untuk membuang kekotoran dan sisa minyak kemudiannya diayak untuk mendapat saiz partikel yang dikehendaki. POFA telah disaring untuk melepasi ayak bersaiz 300 μm kemudiannya dikisar dan dibakar untuk membuang karbon yang berlebihan. POFA digunakan ke dalam konkrit OPS dalam cara penggantian sebahagian simen Portland biasa pada peratusan sebanyak 10%, 20%, dan 30%. Di samping itu, campuran yang mengandungi agregat granit hancur dan campuran yang hanya mengandungi OPS agregat menggunakan simen Portland biasa disediakan untuk tujuan perbandingan. Semua campuran konkrit menjalani proses rawatan air yang sama sehingga mencapai umur 3, 7 dan 28 hari. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa konkrit OPS yang mengandungi 20% POFA dapat mencapai kekuatan mampatan sebanyak 20.93 MPa, kekuatan tegangan 1.40 MPa dan nilai ketumpatan 1882 kg/m3 pada 28 hari serta mempunyai keliangan 23.49% dan kebolehkerjaan yang boleh diterima dengan nilai runtuhan sebanyak 20 mm. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The properties of Oil Palm Shell (OPS) concrete containing Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA) has been investigated. Both OPS aggregates and POFA were collected in the palm oil factories as by-products to be used in the concrete mix. OPS aggregates were cleaned to remove the impurities and oil residue, and treated to obtain the desired particle size. While POFA was sieved to pass 300 μm sieve then ground and burned to remove excess carbon. The POFA was utilized into the production OPS concrete in the manner of partial replacement of Ordinary Portland cement at the percentage of 10%, 20% and 30%. In addition, a mix containing crushed granite aggregate and a mix containing OPS aggregrate using Ordinary Portland cement only were prepared for comparison purposes. All the mixes were subjected the same water curing process until the testing age of 3, 7 and 28 days. The results show that OPS concrete containing 20% POFA could achieve compressive strength of 20 MPa, splitting tensile strength of 1.40 MPa and 1882 kg/m3 density at 28 days while posessessing 23.49% of porosity and acceptable workability with the slump value of 20 mm.
