Abstract BS EN 60931-2:1996 is a British Standard that specifies the requirements and test methods for capacitors for use in electronic equipment. This standard covers film capacitors that are used for direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) applications. BS EN 60931-2:1996 specifies the requirements for the performance of film capacitors, including their electrical characteristics such as capacitance, voltage rating, and temperature coefficient. The standard also provides guidelines for the construction and marking of film capacitors, including the requirements for the marking of the polarity and capacitance value. In addition to the requirements, BS EN 60931-2:1996 specifies the test methods for evaluating the electrical performance of film capacitors.
