This Malaysian Standard specifies procedures for the determination of the effective shear strength parameters for specimens of saturated soil which have been subjected to isotropic consolidation and then sheared in compression, under a constant confining pressure, by increasing the axial strain. The tests apply to specimens in the form of right cylinders of nominal diameters usually from 38 mm to about 100 mm and of a height approximately equal to twice the diameter.
