Pengoptimuman ammonia sintesis merupakan topik yang penting dalam industri memandangkan pasaran ammonia terus berkembang dan permintaan yang bertambah. Peningkatan harga gas asli telah menaikkan kepentingan dalam sumbersumber tenaga alternatif lain. Proses yang dicadangkan adalah untuk menghasilkan ammonia cecair melalui pembakaran arang batu. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengkaji proses ini dengan menggunakan simulator ASPEN PLUS dengan dibahagiakan kepada dua bahagian, untuk mengkaji simulasi proses pembakaran arang batu untuk menggunakan gas hidrogen seta gas nitrogen yang terhasil sebagai sumber penyalur kepada simulasi proses ammonia. Tujuan ini adalah untuk melaksanakan imbangan bahan yang ketat berdasarkan kepada asas sebanyak 4500 kg/j arang batu serta 4000 kg/j gas oksigen yang digunakan. Keputusan simulasi ini digunakan untuk menjalankan penilaian analisis sensitiviti yang lengkap. Sesetengah parameter reka bentuk diubah suai daripada nilai-nilai kesusasteraan. Simulasi dilakukan berulang bagi aetiap kes untuk megkaji kesannya terhadap pengeluaran. Berdasarkan kepada asas yang telah ditetapkan, keputusan simulasi daripada ASPEN PLUS menunjukkan 141.84 kg/j gas hidrogen serta 409.22 kg/j gas nitrogen telah terhasil dan bahagian ini digunakan untuk proses simulasi penghasilan cecair amonia yabg telah menunjukkan keputusan penghasilan sebanyak 255.39 kg/j. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ammonia synthesis optimization is a topic of high interest in industry as the market continues to expand and demand increases. Increasing natural gas prices have raised interest in alternate energy resources. This proposed process is to produce liquid ammonia via coal gasification. The purpose of this research is to simulate this process using the ASPEN PLUS simulator in which divided into two parts, to simulate the coal gasification process to use the hydrogen and ammonia gases produced as a feedstock for simulation of ammonia process. It is to perform the rigorous material balances based on the basis of 4500 kg/hr of coal and 4000 kg/hr of oxygen gas feed. The results of this simulation are used to carry out a complete sensitivity analysis evaluation. Certain design parameters are modified from literature values. The simulations are repeated for each case to study its effect on the production. From the basis, the ASPEN PLUS simulation shows the results of 141.84 kg/hr hydrogen and 409.22 kg/hr nitrogen gases produced from coal gasification process simulation and this component was used to simulate the liquid ammonia production which give the 255.39 kg/hr liquid ammonia produced.
