Harmonik mempunyai kesan ke atas talian penghantaran dalam pelbagai cara. Ia boleh menyebabkan peningkatan rintangan akibat kesan kulit. Tambahan harmonik semasa meningkatkan kehilangan tembaga sistem penghantaran dan mengurangkan kapasiti penghantaran kuasa. Selanjutnya, arus harmonik menghasilkan voltan harmonik jatuh di pelbagai impedans litar. Akibatnya sistem lemah pada impedans besar mempunyai tahap kesalahan yang rendah dan gangguan voltan yang lebih besar di mana sistem sengit impedans rendah mempunyai tahap kesalahan yang tinggi dan gangguan voltan yang lebih rendah. Voltan harmonik meningkatkan tekanan dielektrik kabel yang digunakan dalam talian penghantaran. Tekanan dielektrik adalah berkadar dengan voltan puncak mereka. Ini mengurangkan kekuatan dielektrik. Ini menyebabkan pemendekan hayat kegunaan kabel dan kebarangkalian bilangan kesalahan. Akhirnya, kejadian korona akan berlaku. Permulaan dan kepupusan Corona bergantung kepada puncak ke voltan puncak. Voltan puncak bergantung pada hubungan fasa antara harmonik dan asas. Voltan harmonik meningkatkan puncak ke voltan puncak. Ia mungkin berlaku bahawa voltan puncak berada di atas penarafan sementara RMS. voltan adalah baik dalam had ini. Ini adalah faktor yang membawa kepada kepentingan projek ini. Projek ini memberi tumpuan kepada sebab-sebab dan kesan harmonik dalam sistem kuasa terutamanya dalam talian penghantaran. Simulasi ini dibangunkan menggunakan program MATLAB / SIMULINK untuk menganalisis kejadian harmonik. Harmonik dalam sistem kuasa telah menjadi masalah besar jika tidak mengendalikan dengan berhati-hati. Harmonik berkembang dengan pesat dalam beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini kerana peningkatan beban bukan linear dalam sistem kuasa. Sumber-sumber harmonik sukar dikawal, dan ia telah diedarkan secara meluas. Ia boleh menjejaskan seumur hidup peralatan dan membawa faktor keselamatan ke operasi grid. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Harmonics has effect on transmission line in various ways. It could make the resistance increases due to skin effect. Additional harmonic current increases copper loss of transmission system and reduce power transmitting capacity. Furthermore, harmonic current produces harmonic voltage drops across various circuit impedances. As a result, a weak system of large impedance has low fault level and greater voltage disturbances where as a stiff system of low impedance has high fault level and lower voltage disturbance. Harmonic voltage increases dielectric stress of cables used in transmission line. The dielectric stress is proportional to their crest voltages. This reduces dielectric strength. This results in shortening of the useful life of the cable and probability of the number of faults. Finally, the occurrence of corona will be happened. Corona starting, and extinction levels depend on peak to peak voltage. The peak voltage depends on the phase relationship between the harmonics and the fundamental. Harmonic voltage increases peak to peak voltage. It may happen that the peak voltage is above the rating while the RMS. voltage is well within this limit. These are the factors that lead to the importance of this project. This project is focusing on the causes and effects of the harmonic in power system especially in transmission line. The simulation is developed using a MATLAB/SIMULINK program to analyse the occurrence of harmonic. Harmonic in power system was becoming the big problem if not handle with carefully. Harmonic was growing very quickly in recent years because of the increasing of the nonlinear load in power system. Harmonic sources are difficult to control, and it has distributed widely. It can affect a lifetime of the equipment and bring the safety factor to the grid operation.
