Geganti mikro ialah suis elektrik yang berskala mikro di mana ia dibuka dan ditutup di bawah kawalan litar elektrik yang lain. Dalam projek ini, satu reka bentuk geganti mikro yang sedia ada telah dihasilkan dan dianalisis. Model geganti mikro dua dimensi (2D) yang merangkumi dua magnet kekal, gegelung planar, angker dan udara sekeliling ini telah dihasilkan menerusi perisian ANSYS. Seterusnya, struktur reka bentuk ini dianalisa secara matematik dan disimulasi melalui Analisa Elemen Hingga (FEA). Keputusan simulasi menunjukkan corak fluks magnet yang diperolehi bergantung kepada pilihan parameter geometri dan arus operasinya. Hasil simulasi yang diperolehi amat berguna untuk analisa peranti sebelum proses fabrikasi dilaksanakan. Dalam pada itu, geganti mikro ini amat sesuai bagi peralatan mudah alih, peralatan eksperimen, radio frekuensi bagi system telekomunikasi, instrumental dan aplikasi-aplikasi lain.

Microrelay is a micro-scale electrical switch that opens and closes under the control of another electrical circuit. In this project, an existing electromagnetic microrelay was successfully designed and analyzed. The two dimensional (2D) model of the microrelay which comprises of two permanent magnets, a planar coil, an armature and the surrounding air was modeled using ANSYS software. The structural was designed, mathematically analyzed and simulated via Finite-Element Analysis (FEA). The simulation results show the magnetic flux pattern obtained depending upon geometrical parameter choices and the operating current. Simulation gain that obtained was useful for device analyses before implementing the fabrication process. Therefore, this medium-power electromagnetic microrelay is very suitable for portable or self-energizing devices, Automated Test Equipments (ATE), Radio Frequency (RF) telecommunication systems, instrumentation and other possible applications.
