Abstract This standard specifies a method for determining the flow time of paints, varnishes, and related products using flow cups. The flow time is a measure of the time it takes for a fixed volume of the liquid coating to flow through the orifice of a flow cup under the influence of gravity. The standard applies to both Newtonian and non-Newtonian liquids.
