Faktor yang mempengaruhi masa telah dikenalpasti sebagai mempengaruhi prestasi pembinaan dalam industri pembinaan. Kajian ini memberi tumpuan kepada penyiasatan terhadap faktor yang mempengaruhi masa terhadap industri pembinaan di Seberang Perai Selatan (Nibong Tebal dan Jawi). Literasi daripada kajian sebelumnya telah dipelajari dan tiga objektif utama dicapai iaitu: (1) untuk menyiasat faktor yang mempengaruhi masa dalam industri pembinaan; (2) untuk mengenalpasti kesan-kesan akibat faktor yang mempengaruhi masa dalam industri pembinaan dan (3) untuk mencadangkan kaedah mengurangkan faktor yang mempengaruhi masa dalam industri pembinaan. Objektif kajian ini telah tercapai melalui soalselidik yang diperolehi daripada kontraktor, perunding dan pihak berkuasa tempatan. Data yang diperolehi telah dianalisa menggunakan ‘Statistical Product and Service Solutions’ (S.P.S.S). ‘Descriptive Statistics’ telah digunakan untuk menentukan huraian dan frekuensi setiap kriteria dan untuk membantu membuat perbandingan. Kajian ini mendapati bahawa (penundaan penghantaran bahan binaan ke tapak apabila diperlukan) di bawah bahagian peralatan dan bahan binaan sebagai faktor yang paling kritikal mempengaruhi masa dalam industri pembinaan. Kajian juga menandakan bahawa (tarikh siap projek ditunda akibat kelewatan masa) sebagai faktor yang paling kritikal mempengaruhi kesan akibat faktor yang mempengaruhi masa. Kemudian, kajian mendapati bahawa (gunakan pasukan binaan secara berhemah dan menyeluruh) sebagai faktor yang paling kritikal mempengaruhi kaedah mengurangkan faktor yang mempengaruhi masa. Data menunjukkan terdapat perbezaan di antara kedudukan kajian lalu dan kajian kini. Ini mungkin disebabkan faktor teknologi yang telah berubah, lokasi dan keadaan tapak yang berbeza, rekacipta yang berbeza dan kemahiran pekerja yang berlainan.

Time related factors are well known to influence construction performance in construction industry. This study focused on investigation into time influencing factors in Seberang Perai Selatan (Nibong Tebal and Jawi) construction industry. Literatures of previous studies were studied and three main objectives were obtained which are: (1) to investigate the time influencing factors in construction industry; (2) to identify the effects of time influencing factors in construction industry and (3) to suggest mitigation measures for the time influencing factors in construction industry. The objectives of the study were achieved through valid questionnaire that was obtained from contractors, consultants, and authorities. The data obtained were analyzed using Statistical Product and Service Solutions (S.P.S.S). Descriptive Statistics were used to determine the descriptive and frequency of each criterion and to aid in making comparison. The study clarified that (delay of material delivery to site when needed) under materials and equipment part was the most critical factor in time influencing factors in construction industry. The survey also indicated that (the completion of the project is delayed due to time overrun) was the most critical factor in the effects of time influencing factors. Then, the study illustrated that (fully utilize the construction team) was the most critical factor in the mitigation measures for time influencing factors. The results indicated that the rankings between past and current study differ but there were some similarities among the ranking of factors. This may be due to the fact that the technology of construction had changed recently, the environment and location of study were different, different construction design and different skills of workforce.
